“How long have you been belly dancing?”
I began dabbling on and off about six years ago. However, three years ago
I took a class with Diane Webber, a teacher who required serious commitment
from her students. That is when I truly began to study the dance. Later, I
started taking lessons with Anaheed and Amara who also possesed the advanced
teaching skills I was looking for.
“How
big is your snake?”
Eden is an 8ft red tail boa constrictor.
“Is
the snake nice?”
She’s sweet as pie and cool as a cucumber! However, some people have
snake phobias so, if I am performing with Eden ask that the host anounce to
their guests that there will be a large snake. Eden’s purpose is to impress
people not to frighten them!
“Why
do you charge extra for snake and sword dancing?”
Well, they both cost me money. They also took a lot of time and disipline
to develop the skill to work with. In addition, they require extra care when
I’m traveling to a performance.
“Do
you play those finger bell thingies?”
Yes, they can be called finger cymbals, zills or segat, and they are a standard
part of my dance routine.
“What
is included in your standard dance routine?”
Approximately 15 minutes where I dance using finger cymbals and veil and will
do floorwork if the setting is appropriate. Go to my photo

“What’s
with the tattoos?”
I am having some of the tattoos on my arms removed because I want to be able
to perform various styles and obtain multiple looks as a dancer. They look
a bit faded but do NOT have scars and can be covered upon request. I also
have a beautiful intact tattoo on my lower back which I’ve never covered
because most people love it, however I will upon request.
“Is
it okay to tip a bellydancer?”
YES! Most belly dancers greatly appreciate tips. You can politely slip them
under our hip belts or bra straps. If a bellydancer doesn’t feel comfortable
with tips, she will dance or turn away, to let you know.
“What
kind of events do people hire a belly dancer for?”
Birthdays, weddings, parties, clubs, award ceremonies...anything you want
to be extra fun and unforgetable!
