"We should consider every day lost in which we do not dance at least once." -Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche |
Alsana was initially taught the art of bellydance by famous dancer / model Diane Webber. She later sought additional training with highly regarded instructors such as Anaheed and Amara. In exploration of the various styles of belly dance Alsana also studied with several teachers throughout the Los Angeles area. As a result, her bellydance style is an eclectic cabaret fusion with a heavy base in American / Turkish style. Her movements are sometimes accented with inspirations from Modern Egyptian, Old Egyptian and American Tribal styles. In addition she has taken lessons in modern dance, breakdance, Classical Legong (Balinese) and ballet. She is currently completing her senior year in the BFA program at Cal State Northridge where she works in collective mixed medias. In addition to dance, Alsana finds joy in painting, Polaroid photography, viewing modern architecture, modeling, visiting museums and galleries, and traveling the world. |
